Course Descriptions

Intro to Tridium Jace Class $1250
The goal of the 5-day Introduction to Tridium JACE course is to educate students to a basic level of technical expertise necessary to effectively and efficiently design, engineer, and program projects using the NiagaraAX Framework. Students will receive a Certificate of Completion. This course will provide similar if not more hands on application as the Certification Course. Students will be confident to design and program a project after attending. Johnson Controls Facility ExplorerTM FX is the basis for course, but the AX Platform is universal for all Tridium NiagaraAX JACES.

Intended Audience: For End Users and/or Authorized Building Specialist/Contractors Only

Objectives:

  • Understand system architecture, user interface, database creation, and backup.
  • Create controllers, points, extensions, bindings, and proxies.
  • Learn protocols such as BACnet, LON, N2, and Modbus.
  • Customize graphics, schedules, alarms, reports, and security level profiles.

Niagara AX Technical Certification Course $2500
The goal of the 5-day Niagara AX Certification Technical Training course is to educate students to a basic level of technical expertise necessary to effectively and efficiently design, engineer, and program projects using the NiagaraAX Framework. Students who pass the testing at the end of this class will receive a Certificate of Achievement testifying to their ability. Credentials can be used to fulfill Tridium NiagaraAX program signup requirements.

Intended Audience: Honeywell Authorized Distributors and Contractors

Objectives:

  • Understand system architecture, user interface, database creation, and backup.
  • Create controllers, points, extensions, bindings and proxies.
  • Learn protocols such as BACnet, LON, N2, and Modbus.
  • Customize graphics, schedules, alarms, reports, and security level profiles.

Niagara 4 Technical Certification Course $2750
The goal of the 5-day Niagara 4 Certification Technical Training course is to educate students to a basic level of technical expertise necessary to effectively and efficiently design, engineer, and program projects using the Niagara4 Framework. Students who pass the testing at the end of this class will receive a Certificate of Achievement testifying to their ability.

Intended Audience: Honeywell Authorized Distributors and Contractors

Objectives:

  • Understand system architecture, user interface, database creation, and backup.
  • Create controllers, points, extensions, bindings and proxies.
  • Learn protocols such as BACnet, LON, N2, and Modbus.
  • Customize graphics, schedules, alarms, reports, and security level profiles.

FX MSTP Field Controller Engineering $1770-$1870
Participants will receive an overview of the FX MSTP field controller system, create programs from standard tree systems using the Programmable Controller and Commissioning tool, then connect to the controllers through a Bluetooth connection and download their code into the controllers after setting up the hardware and software to communicate properly.

Intended Audience: For End Users and/or Authorized Building Specialist Only

Objectives:

  • Understand system architecture, user interface, database creation, and backup.
  • Create applications using the standard trees; peer to peer communications.
  • Commissioning inputs and outputs and state based strategies.

Applied Niagara Course $1900
In this course you will learn: Advanced control logic, Advanced Graphics for Enterprise Systems, Animation Properties and building Px pages for re-usability both as Master Templates and Device Template levels, Lynxspring Harmony (including templates), Advanced integration of Enterprise Systems (including LON tools for offline configuration, LON polling services and troubleshooting, and Modbus Register setup and troubleshooting) Export/Import of Enterprise Systems, Global/Slave tools and logic, Export Tagging, How to Join a Supervisor, Reporting Services, and much, much more. A prerequisite NiagaraAX Certification is required and will be verified through Tridium's records.

Intended Audience: For End Users and/or Authorized Building Specialist Only

Objectives: Students will:

  • Understand enterprise (server) architecture, database creation, and backup.
  • Create integration controllers, points, extensions, bindings and proxies.
  • Learn IP protocols such as BACnet, LON, and Modbus.
  • Advanced reporting, graphics, schedules, alarms, and security level profiles

JCI FX-PCT Introductory Controllers Course $600
The goal of the 5-day FX-PCT Controllers course is to educate students to a basic level of technical expertise necessary to effectively and efficiently design, engineer, and program projects using the JCI Facility ExplorerTM (FX) PCG Controllers. Students will receive a Certificate of Completion. This course will provide similar if not more hands on application as the JCI Institute Course. Students will be confident to design and program a project after attending.

Intended Audience: For End Users and/or Authorized Building Specialist/Contractors Only

Objectives:

  • Understand hardware I/O, applications, PID loops, logic and network capabilities.
  • Create programs using standard engineering library.
  • Downloading and uploading controllers using Bluetooth connection.
  • Learn to customize programs, commission, and troubleshoot.

FX Supervisory Controllers Engineering and Setup $1645
Students will be able to make the most of their Facility Explorer by learning how to set up and manage the Facility Explorer Supervisory Controllers. Prerequisite: Student must have a strong knowledge of the JCI field controllers. A familiarization with BAS systems would be beneficial.

Intended Audience: For End Users and/or Authorized Building Specialist/Contractors Only

Objectives:

  • Understand hardware I/O, applications, PID loops, logic and network capabilities.
  • Create programs using standard engineering library.
  • Downloading and uploading supervisory controllers; autodiscover BACnet, LON and NDIO Points.
  • Learn to customize programs, commission, and troubleshoot.

Introductory to Pneumatics Course $200
This is a 1-day course is to educate students on basic understanding of pneumatic control theory and application. Students will have hands on labs and learn calibration and setup for pneumatic thermostats, PE switches, and VAV controllers. Students will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Intended Audience: For End Users and/or Authorized Building Specialist/Contractors Only

Objectives: The FX MSTP Field Controller Engineering course will allow students to:

  • Understand pneumatic theory, hardware and application.
  • Calibrate all brands of pneumatic thermostats with specialty tools.
  • Setup and calibrate pneumatic VAV controllers with min/max airflow.
  • Confidently utilize learning at your facility.
